Monday Away Meet vs. Tega Cay Breakers – Final Details + Volunteer Needs
Dear Mako Sharks Families,
We’re looking forward to Monday evening’s away meet against the Tega Cay Breakers, and we’re excited to see our swimmers in action! Please review the important information below to ensure a smooth and successful experience for everyone.
🔹 Volunteer Help Still Needed
We’re still looking for a few additional volunteers to help the meet run smoothly. If you’re able to assist, please reply to this email or let us know through the signup form.
Open Volunteer Roles:
- 1–2 Clean-Up Volunteers
- Second Half Tent Runner(New Role!) – This volunteer helps escort swimmers from the team tent—where they are organized by tent parents—to the Clerk of Course in a timely and orderly manner.
🔹 Meet Details

🚗 Parking:Lakeshore Christian Fellowship130 Shoreline Parkway, Tega Cay, SC 29708
- Shuttle service begins at 4:45 PM.
- Do not park on side streets – Tega Cay enforces permit parking, and violators may be ticketed or towed.
- If arriving early, use the attached parking pass for access to the gravel lot near the pool.
🕓 Timeline:
- Visiting Team Warm-Ups: 5:10–5:35 PM
- Meet Start: 5:45 PM
🍔 Concessions
Concessions will be available on the pool deck provided by Model A Brewing (cash and credit accepted). Alcohol will be carded and sales end at 8:00 PM.

Additionally, Whit’s Frozen Custard will have a stand outside the pool near the paved lot.
🎒 What Swimmers Need to Bring
✅ Team suit
✅ Team cap (required to race)
✅ Registration shirt (to wear when not racing)
✅ Goggles (plus a backup pair)
✅ Multiple towels
✅ Water bottles
✅ Healthy snacks
✅ Labeled chair (for age group tent)
✅ Quiet, screen-free activities (books, cards, coloring)
🚫 No electronics, please – We want swimmers focused, connected, and engaged with their teammates.
📋 Meet Prep Reminders
- Write swimmer’s events, heats, and lanes on their arm before arriving.

- Write name and age on their back right shoulder (especially ages 10 & under) to help volunteers identify them.
- Swimmers must remain in their age group tents with their gear throughout the meet to avoid missing events.
🔹 Check-In Process:Upon arrival, swimmers must check in with Lead Parent Rachel Cameron at their age group tent.If leaving early, check out with Rachel so we know not to look for your swimmer at race time.
🔹 If you take your swimmer out of the tent (bathroom, snack, etc.), please notify the tent parent in charge.
👀 Parent & Spectator Reminders
- Please be respectful of timers and officials behind the blocks. 🚫 Do not stand behind, approach, or distract them.
- 📸 Safe Sport Reminder: No photography or video is allowed behind the starting blocks, per USA Swimming’s Safe Sport policies. This is for the safety, modesty, and privacy of all athletes.
🪑 Seating & Tent Area
- Mako Sharks will set up along the walkway toward the lake.
- Tents/chairs can be placed along this area past the designated seating space, which must be kept clear for the Clerk of Course line-up.
- For safety, no swimmers should play in or around the lake.
🛑 Other Meet Rules & Info
- No diving in the shallow end; dive-overs will be used.
- Second timers meeting will be held after the 11/12 50 Backstroke.
- No glass, tobacco, or outside alcohol allowed.
- No hammocks, no personal tents on deck, no use of showers for play.
- Kiddie pool will be closed.
- Bathrooms are located at the main gate entrance.
- The gate by Clerk of Course is for swimmers/coaches only. All others, please use the main entrance.
- Swimmers must exit the pool area after races by going around the building, not through the Clerk of Course gate.
- Please clean up after yourselves – trash bags will be available.
🌦 In Case of Weather Delays
If inclement weather occurs, we will shelter in cars or the pool house. Just like in other outdoor sports, we’ll delay until it’s safe to continue—or, if needed, coaches may make the call to end the meet.
📍 Directions
- From Hwy 160, take Gold Hill Road toward Tega Cay.
- Continue ~2 miles. Gold Hill becomes Tega Cay Drive.
- After Tega Cay Elementary, take a left at the first light onto Shoreline Parkway.
- Lakeshore Christian Fellowship will be on your right; park in the rear. Shuttle provided.
- To drop off swimmers/gear, continue on Shoreline Parkway, turn left at the 2nd stop sign onto Beach Club Lane—the pool is at the end.
